Long Distance Paths
Let Make Tracks organise your walking holiday in Scotland. All our hiking vacations are self-guided. You will be away from big groups, with time to observe wildlife, take a few photographs and stop for a picnic or a meal whenever you want. Meanwhile, we take care of all the details. We provide:-
  • The best quality bed and breakfast or Hotel accommodation
  • Detailed written guides and maps
  • Door to door luggage transfer between your accommodation stops
  • Transfers to and from your accommodation as required

Long Distance Paths - On a Make Tracks walking holiday, you can walk on all the long distance paths in Scotland. The Southern Upland Way, the West Highland Way, St Cuthbert's Way, the Great Glen Way, and the Speyside Way are all classic Scottish walks; and we have two newer walks which have been proving very popular - The Cateran Trail, and a relatively easy walk, the Borders Abbeys Way (easily adapted for a shorter walking break).

Off the Beaten Track - With Make Tracks, you can also sample hidden Scotland. Enjoy the Tweedside Walk, in the peaceful Scottish Borders, or walk in the footsteps of Rob Roy in the Trossachs. For walking in the Scottish Islands and West Highlands, book the Highland Lochs and Islands vacation to the spectacular landscape of Morar, the remote Knoydart peninsula, and the romantic islands of Rum and Eigg. We also have a great range of walks on that Mecca for hillwalkers, the Isle of Skye.

Short Breaks - Why not enjoy a Make Tracks short walking break. Our short breaks are all just a short distance from the main airports and rail links, and can get you away from it all before you know it. Also, we can easily work out a schedule on any of the longer walks to suit a short walking break. Just let us know and we'll work something out for you.

Group Tours - As well as our self-guided walks, we regularly organise purpose built walking tours for groups. Our clients have included corporate groups, groups walking for charity, and hillwalking clubs from all round the world. We even organised a great walking holiday for a group of parents and children (from 4 years old) from Spain (don't ask how?).

For more information about our walks visit the links on the left. Find out about prices, how to get here, get more details about our accommodation, or keep up to date by reading our blog about walkiing in Scotland. We also try to publish photographs of the Scottish countryside (especially people walking). Visit our gallery to see some good ones, and please send in your own.
