Portpatrick - southern upland wayWalking the 212 mile length of the Southern Upland Way will take you through an enormous variety of scenery and it provides a challenge that will give you a tremendous sense of achievement on completion. With Make Tracks, independent walkers can walk the way without carrying luggage or worrying about arranging accommodation each night. We arrange accommodation and luggage transfer for every day of your walk. Many of the longer sections could bevery arduous and would be difficult or dangerous to manage in a single day. To make these more manageable we have arranged for walkers to be collected from intermediate points, driven to nearby accommodation and dropped off again the next morning.

St. Mary's Loch, southern upland wayThe route is only suitable for those who are experienced and very fit. Every party is provided with a copy of the official guide and maps of the Way (if you have your own we will refund the cost). The accommodation is normally in Bed and Breakfasts or Farmhouses, and occasionally in Hotels. The walk can also be conveniently divided into two or three sections. We will make every effort to vary the itinerary to suit individual walkers. Please contact Make Tracks (details below) to discuss any variations you would like to incorporate.
